A few seconds ago several tweets and re-tweets popped in to my timeline all of which pointed to a short blog post entitled “What’s wrong with being right?” The blog post is based on the book, “Get Along with Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere” by Arnold Sanow and Sandra Strauss. Seeing such a flurry of activity, I took the time to read the blog post. While there is some good advice, I wonder why it is necessary to always state the obvious. Many years ago, leadership coaches talked about “creating win-win situations.” It was obvious then and it’s still obvious now. So why do people continue to write, publish and sell books that contain the same old concepts, repeated and re-dressed?
Isn’t it time for some original thought?
