Today, Dan Rockwell (@Leadershipfreak) posted a blog article entitle “Three Things Strong Leaders Do.” He was reporting on Harry Kraemer’s speech at the Kellog Leadership Conference. Having had the opportunity to hear Harry speak several years ago, I was eager to read Dan Rockwell’s blog article.
The three pieces of wisdom were:
- Keep it Simple
- Start ASAP
- Know that Leadership is a Journey
Not a very startling list I thought. However, looking at the first item on the list, “keep it simple”, I then realised that this list is a manifestation of its own advice.
I then spotted a link to Dan’s conversation with Harry entitled “A Journey to Silence”. If you have 10 minutes spare, take the time to follow this link. As Harry says “If you are not self-reflective, how can you truly know yourself? If you do not know yourself, how can you lead yourself? And if you cannot lead yourself, how can you possibly lead others?”
